![]() ![]() I *was* an SS1 addict, but I'm not too on to the SS2 mod scene. I'm not really as much of an SS2 "addict" as I'd like everyone to believe. It's easy to look at this through the eyes of SS addicts. Rather than people having to hunt those down in a million different places, it would be simpler for them all to be on the same page. Also, they each have their own setup instructions. It simplified it for a lot of people (including myself).Īs far as Zombe's Mod Manager goes, I have installed it in the past and found some mods for it, but I didn't install Rebirth or SHTUP that way, and they're arguably the most significant upgrades to date. People always had the ability to search the forums and find the patches and what had worked for different people, but the Guide brought all of the best stuff that worked to one place. Wuggles Unlimited is completely awesome, I agree, but this is just like the SS1 Compatibility thread. Also, mods are not made that much for SS2. Once there is enough info in this thread, I will organize it into a comprehensive guide, with download links, etc.Īs far as who would keep it updated, I'm planning on doing it myself as time allows. What would you do to take an install-fresh copy of SS2 and slap any and every enhancing mod on it? Also, list all the (upgrade/enhancing) mods that you know of. I've never seen this done before (maybe it has), but if we can get enough good info together - and get an admin to sticky the thread, I think that would be a great thing - provided there is enough info. The thought has occurred to me though, that we should make a "Modernize System Shock 2" GUIDE for everyone to use, much like the wonderful SS1/2 compatibility guides. Sadly, real life keeps me from being involved in the forums night and day.įor my own personal use, I would like to know of (even if I don't use each one) every tweak/update/mod/patch of note which has been made by the community. ![]() However, I've been browsing the forums a lot lately, and have heard several people mention upgrades that I knew nothing of! Someone mentioned there's a CFG hack to play at higher than 1024x768? YaY! I've also heard of transparent doors, updated weapon models, etc - but I haven't seen these or know where to download them. I play SS2 fairly frequently and have loved using the upgrade mods like Rebirth and SHTUP, and thought I knew about nearly everything which had been developed to enhance or modernize SS2. ![]()
